TranZact vs Zoho ERP for Indian Manufacturers: One System, or Operations Beside Your Accounts?

TranZact and Zoho ERP are both on the shortlist of many Indian SME manufacturers, but they are built on different ideas. TranZact runs sales, purchase, inventory and production and leaves the books in Tally, Busy or Zoho Books. Zoho ERP puts accounts, GST and production in one system. Which idea fits your factory matters more than any feature list.

TranZact vs Zoho ERP as two lanes: TranZact runs enquiry and order, purchase and stores, and production and QC, then hands the accounts to Tally, Busy or Zoho Books, so ask which records sync; Zoho ERP keeps order, production, stock, invoice, GST and ledgers in one system, replaces Zoho Books and is sold in India separately from Zoho One. A factory worker beside three demo questions, and facts on TranZact plans from Free to Dominate, Zoho ERP's 14-day trial and half-yearly ITC-04 above 5 crore turnover
The first question is not which has more features. It is where your accounts will live.

Quick answer

Choose TranZact if your accounts stay in Tally, Busy or Zoho Books and you want to digitise sales, purchase, stores and production beside them. Choose Zoho ERP if you want accounts, GST, e-invoices and production in one system. Test your own job work scenario in both demos before you decide.

Search for “TranZact vs Zoho” and most of what you find compares TranZact with Zoho Inventory, which has no manufacturing module. That is not the comparison an Indian manufacturer faces in 2026. Zoho ERP, launched in India in January 2026, has bills of materials, manufacturing orders, job cards and quality inspections, so the real choice is TranZact against Zoho ERP, or TranZact alongside a Zoho accounting product.

Every plan and feature below was checked on TranZact’s and Zoho’s own pages on 19 October 2026. Where a vendor’s page does not say something, we say so rather than guess. We do not quote prices; use the official TranZact pricing and Zoho ERP pricing pages.

The short answer

  • Choose TranZact if your accountant is staying on Tally or Busy and you want to digitise enquiries, purchase, stores and production without changing the accounts. TranZact lists integrations with Tally, Busy and Zoho Books.
  • Choose Zoho ERP if you want accounts, GST returns, e-invoices, e-way bills and production in one system, with one set of item and customer records and no sync between two products.
  • Consider both halves of the Zoho range if you already use Zoho Books or Zoho CRM: Zoho ERP replaces Zoho Books rather than sitting beside it, while TranZact can sit next to Zoho Books.

Two different ideas of a factory system

TranZact describes its product as a “Factory AI OS”, with sales, purchase, inventory and production management and an AI Data Agent for reports. Its own pages say you can link your Tally or sync with Tally, Busy and Zoho, and its integration page describes accounting staying in Tally. In other words, TranZact runs the operational side of the business and hands the accounting to a separate product. It says customers go live in two to three weeks.

Zoho ERP is a single product with core financials, order management, inventory, manufacturing, quality, spend management and payroll. Its feature list includes GST filing, e-invoicing, e-way bills, delivery challans and TDS alongside manufacturing orders and job cards. Zoho sells it through its Indian website with rupee pricing, and its pricing FAQ says it is a separate product, not part of Zoho One.

Neither idea is wrong. A two-system setup lets the accounts team keep the software it trusts. A single system removes the sync between operations and accounts, which is where many stock and costing mismatches start.

Where a sales order goes in each setup Top: with TranZact, an order moves through operations in TranZact and then syncs to Tally, Busy or Zoho Books for accounting. Bottom: with Zoho ERP, the order, production and the accounting entries stay in one system. TranZact with an accounting product TranZact Enquiry, order, purchase, stores, production sync Tally, Busy or Zoho Books Ledgers, GST returns Zoho ERP One system Order, production, stock, invoice, GST and ledgers on the same records
With two systems, every item, customer and stock movement has to match on both sides. With one, there is nothing to sync, but the accounts team changes software too.

Production, subcontracting and job work

  • TranZact lists multi-level BOMs with sub-assemblies and nested components, scrap factors at each level, process routing, work orders, machine planning and production costing. Its higher Dominate plan adds batch tracking and QC, machine planning and API integrations.
  • Zoho ERP lists bills of materials that define production steps and work centers, manufacturing orders, job cards that compare planned and actual time, a shop floor view of planned against actual progress, and a planning module that can split one operation across several work centers.

Job work deserves its own test, because it is where Indian manufacturers find out whether a system fits. Zoho ERP’s help documents a subcontract manufacturing flow with subcontract BOMs, subcontract manufacturing orders, purchase orders and material transfers. TranZact’s production page lists sub-contracting but gives no further detail. Neither vendor’s feature pages mention Form GST ITC-04, the return a principal manufacturer files for goods sent to and received back from job workers: half-yearly above ₹5 crore turnover, yearly below it.

So in a demo, ask each vendor to send material to a job worker, receive part of it back with some wastage, and show you three things: the stock lying with that job worker, the challan that went with the goods, and the data you would need for ITC-04. That one scenario tells you more than any feature list. Our Zoho ERP vs Odoo comparison uses the same test.

Accounts, GST and where the books live

This is the decision that separates the two products.

With TranZact, accounting stays in another product. Its integrations page names Tally, Busy and Zoho Books, and for Busy it lists vouchers, debit notes and stock movements. For Tally and Zoho Books it does not list which records sync or in which direction, so ask for that in writing. If your accountant files GST from Tally today and will not move, this is TranZact’s biggest advantage: the factory gets a modern system and the accounts team changes nothing.

With Zoho ERP, invoices, GST filing, e-invoices and e-way bills come from the same records as production. A sales order can become a manufacturing order and then an invoice without leaving the system. The cost is that the accounts team moves from its current software, so plan the cut-over date, opening balances and staff training with your accountant. If you are deciding whether to leave Tally at all, our Zoho Books vs TallyPrime guide covers that question first.

One point for Zoho users: Zoho ERP has its own financials, so a company moving to it does not also need Zoho Books. Decide early which product holds the books, so you never end up with two ledgers.

Plans and how you buy

TranZact lists four plans. Free covers lead management (up to 100 enquiries a month), access management, WhatsApp alerts, tasks and reports. Scale adds unlimited lead management, sales and purchase planning, inventory and production management, and AI Data Agent dashboards; the page does not make clear which plans include the Tally, Busy and Zoho integrations, so confirm that for the plan you choose. Dominate adds batch tracking and QC, machine planning, API integrations and custom document formats. Enterprise is quoted individually. Scale and Dominate are billed yearly. Each plan includes a set number of users, and the free plan is aimed at the sales side, not production.

Zoho ERP has Standard, Premium and Custom plans, billed monthly or yearly with a 14-day free trial. Zoho prices users and employees separately; the Standard plan has a minimum of five users. There is also a yearly transaction allowance per organisation: 100,000 on Standard and 300,000 on Premium. Zoho’s FAQ says there is no long-term contract.

When you compare cost, price three years of each route, including the accounting licences you would keep with TranZact, the plan you would actually need for subcontracting and quality, and implementation.

Sales, CRM and the rest of the business

TranZact starts at the enquiry: its plans are built around lead management and quotations. Zoho ERP has order management and a documented integration with Zoho CRM, so a company that wants a full CRM for its sales team, with pipelines and processes, can run Zoho CRM in front of Zoho ERP. Our guide to Zoho CRM Blueprint shows how a manufacturer’s quote approval can be enforced there.

For anything neither product does out of the box, such as a customer-supplied material register, a dealer portal or a machine checklist on a tablet, the Zoho route can add a Zoho Creator app that reads and writes the same records. On the TranZact route, that work goes through its API integrations on the Dominate plan.

A third route: TranZact with Zoho Books

TranZact lists Zoho Books among its integrations. That makes a mixed setup possible: Zoho Books for cloud accounting and GST, TranZact for the factory. It suits a company that has already moved its accounts to Zoho Books and likes TranZact’s production screens.

Go in with open eyes. Item masters, customers, tax codes and stock movements then live in two places, and someone has to own the sync. Ask TranZact which records flow to Zoho Books, in which direction, and what happens when an invoice is edited on one side. If the answers are thin, Zoho ERP alone, or Zoho Books with a Zoho Creator production app, may be simpler to run. Our guide to Zoho for manufacturing compares those Zoho routes.

Questions to ask in a demo

  • Show material sent to a job worker, partly returned with wastage, and the stock still lying with them.
  • Show a multi-level BOM with a sub-assembly made in-house and one made by a job worker.
  • Show an e-invoice and an e-way bill raised from a real sales order.
  • List the records that sync to our accounting software, in which direction, and how errors are handled.
  • Tell us which plan we would need for all of the above, and the user count it includes.

How to choose

  1. Decide where the accounts live. If they stay in Tally or Busy, TranZact is built for that. If you are ready to move them, Zoho ERP keeps everything in one place.
  2. Run your job work scenario in both demos, with your own items and a real job worker.
  3. Check the plan, not the brochure. Confirm which plan includes subcontracting, quality and the integrations you need.
  4. Count the other systems. If sales already runs in Zoho CRM, or accounts in Zoho Books, the Zoho route needs fewer integrations.

If you choose the Zoho route and need integrations or custom apps around it, our Zoho integrations page explains how we work.

Frequently asked questions
