Custom software development

Sometimes Zoho, or any off-the-shelf product, is the wrong tool. When that happens we build custom web applications, portals and internal tools, designed to work alongside the systems you already run rather than replace them for the sake of it.

When custom software makes sense

A customer-facing product

You need a portal or app your customers use, with your own branding and rules.

Requirements beyond low-code

Heavy data processing, unusual integrations or performance needs.

A legacy system needs replacing

An old in-house tool still runs a key process and is hard to maintain.

Glue between systems

Middleware is needed to keep several platforms in sync reliably.

What we build

Web applications

Browser-based applications for internal teams or customers.

Portals and dashboards

Secure, role-based views of your data for clients, partners or management.

APIs and middleware

Services that connect your systems, with logging and error handling.

Database design

Data models that stay fast and consistent as volumes grow.

Integration with Zoho

Custom software that reads from and writes to your Zoho apps.

Documentation and handover

Technical documentation so your team or another developer can take over.

Typical custom builds

  • Client portals that show orders, documents or project status
  • Internal tools that replace legacy desktop applications
  • Middleware that syncs CRM, accounting and e-commerce data
  • Reporting dashboards that combine several data sources
  • Booking, scheduling or quoting tools with custom rules
  • Data import and transformation pipelines

Technology we work with

We choose the simplest stack that fits the problem and your team's ability to maintain it, and we say so when a Zoho-based solution would serve you better.

  • JavaScript
  • Node.js
  • Python
  • SQL
  • REST APIs
  • HTML and CSS
  • Webhooks
  • Zoho APIs
  • Zoho Catalyst

How a custom build runs

Timelines depend heavily on scope; we confirm them in writing after discovery and build in stages so you see working software early.

  1. Discovery

Goals, users, data and the systems the software must connect to.

  2. Architecture and design

Technical design and screens agreed before development starts.

  3. Iterative build

Working features delivered and reviewed in short cycles.

  4. Testing and launch

Functional and integration testing, then a managed release.

  5. Support

    Optional ongoing maintenance and improvements.

Frequently asked questions

For most internal workflows, Zoho Creator is faster and cheaper because hosting, security and mobile access come built in. Custom software is the better choice for customer-facing products, heavy processing or requirements Creator can't meet. We build both, so we'll recommend the one that fits.

Yes. Zoho products expose REST APIs and webhooks, so custom applications can read and write Zoho data and react to changes in real time.

We charge US$15 per hour. Fixed-price projects are quoted from the estimated days and complexity: you can get an indicative figure from the calculator on our pricing page, and after a discovery call we send a written proposal with scope, timeline and cost before any work starts.

We write technical documentation and keep the stack conventional, so your team or another developer can take over if needed.
