Stock control that is right at the moment you look
ZMOS keeps a ledger of every movement and shows live balances per item and warehouse, right at the moment you look. Receipts, issues to jobs, transfers and counts post in seconds; a correction is a new movement, never an edit, so the figures can be trusted.
- Live balances per item and warehouse
- Immutable ledger: corrections are new movements
- Reorder points and low-stock alerts
- Import items, customers and vendors from a file

What stock control covers in ZMOS
- Items, units and warehouses
Sheets, bar stock, hardware, consumables and the parts you make, each with a base unit, material grade, thickness and dimensions. Warehouses are the only location concept; bins are out of scope.
- Movements
Receipts, issues, returns, transfers and count adjustments. Every posting records who, when and why; posted movements cannot be edited or deleted.
- Balances
Live quantity and value per item and warehouse, with the standard cost from the item. Dashboards show total stock value and the movements per day.
- Reorder points
Set a reorder point per item; workflow rules fire when a balance falls below it, so purchasing sees the list without a report.
- Costs that follow what you pay
A receipt at a new unit cost can become the item's cost from then on, so the next order and invoice start from it.
Why the ledger matters
A spreadsheet can be overwritten; a ledger cannot.
In ZMOS a stock figure is the sum of posted movements, and postings that could drive stock negative are serialised per item and warehouse. When a count disagrees with the system, you post an adjustment with a reason and the history keeps both numbers. That is what makes month-end valuation and traceability possible later.
Where it stops
ZMOS tracks single-level BOMs and single-location warehouses. Lot or heat-number tracking and bins are not in the current release.
- Multi-level BOMs: not yet
- Bins and sub-locations: out of scope
- Lot and heat numbers: planned, not shipped

Receipts, issues, transfers, counts and the live balances they produce. The clip starts at this chapter of the full two-hour build; every step is on sample data and the current version.
Questions
Can I import my existing stock list?
Yes. Items, customers and vendors import from a file; opening balances post as receipts into the warehouse of your choice.
Can a storekeeper post from a phone?
Yes. ZMOS runs in the phone browser with the same forms, and image fields let the storekeeper attach a photo of the delivery note.
What happens if someone posts a wrong quantity?
They post a correcting movement with a reason. The original stays in the ledger, the balance is right again, and the audit log shows both.
